Terrible Winter

Itchy boy has not had the best winter, skin-wise.  We really haven't done much in terms of medication.  We treat the parts that can't be covered with clothes (face, hair) and just moisturize the heck out of the rest of his skin.

Medications & treatments:
Face - Protopic
Scalp - Denorex 2-in-1 shampoo

We have found that combing his hair with a fine-tooth comb, gently scraping his scalp has helped to keep his scalp psoriasis under control.  He still has it over most of his scalp, but not the thick patches that he used to have.

These pictures are from last weekend (April 10), when the weather was warm enough that Itchy Boy could sit outside in shorts for a bit:

He has torn up his legs from scratching, but complains that the moisturizers are burning.  I have bought some Glycerin USP and promised him that, if he puts it on his legs, we'll have a lightsaber duel until the sting goes away.  Whatever works, right?!

'Tis the season

Here we go again.  Itchy Boy's psoriasis has flared up again.  After a fantastic summer, it's depressing to see the splotches and spots return.  Here are his stats for today:

Scalp: 80% covered

Face: 10% covered

Arms: 20% covered

Legs: 10% covered

Back: 50% covered

Front: 20% covered

Treatment today:

Scalp:  Elocom lotion 0.1% (Mometason Furoate 0.1%)
Face:  Protopic ointment 0.03% (Tacrolimus 0.03%)
Body:  Elocom cream 0.1% (Mometason Furoate 0.1%)
